Lake Basin: Lake Michigan
Front 40 Educational Outreach Project
Spring Project Grant Award: $2000
Project Summary:
The goal of Front 40 is to educate the public about hazards identified with metallic sulfide mineral mining. In order to reach their constituency with factual and current information, they are redesigning their brochure and producing an information packet they will then mail to residents in Menominee County. They also plan to purchase billboard advertising in Menominee. Through these mailings and media, they will raise public awareness about mining activities along the Menominee River, a boundary water between Michigan and Wisconsin.
